The eGear Pico light was designed in association with Doug Ritter for use in the survival kit that bears his name. But after you’ve handled one you’ll want to keep several more available for daily use. These impressive little lights are barely larger than a quarter, produce a 10-lumen beam, have a tough aluminum housing and weigh about one quarter of an ounce.
Manufactured by Essential Gear, the Pico includes a split ring and snap swivel for easy attachment to a key ring, zipper or lanyard. The light is switched on by rotating the knurled bezel, reducing the odds of turning the light on inadvertently.
The Pico utilizes an unregulated Nichia 5mm LED lamp (made in Japan) that produces 10 lumens with fresh batteries, drops to about 40% percent of maximum output after one hour and will continue to generate usable light for well over 15 hours depending on usage. Compact, robust and affordable, the Doug Ritter Pico light is the ideal light for lightweight survival and emergency kits, for daily use on a key ring, or as a zipper pull on a backpack or jacket. The Pico includes 4 LR41 alkaline batteries and a limited lifetime warranty.
