The Ontario SP8 Machete Survival is a unique and forceful tool. Not exactly a knife and much stronger than a traditional machete, the SP8 fills an in-between niche for the serious trailblazer. Made of 1095 carbon steel, the full-tang blade is epoxy coated for corrosion resistance and comes ground with a utility edge. With a blade thickness of 0.25 inches, a width of nearly 2 inches and the distinctive flat point, the SP8 is an effective tool for prying, digging, light chopping and a host of other tasks. The sawback is useful for notching wood, an aid when lashing and improvising supports in the field.
The grooved Kraton handle provides a comfortable grip, an important consideration for a tool of this size. A wrist lanyard is included along with a combination leather/cordura side-opening sheath. Not a tool for the faint at heart, the Spec Plus SP8 is the ideal device to have when you need extra leverage and strength to get the job done. Made in the USA.
